It's 2020, Why Not ?

When we rang in the new year at home in our basement while the kids popped streamers everywhere there was no way for us to have predicted what a year this would be. I had planned to begin a journey to discover me again. My youngest son was born in 2019 and I got my tubes ties so I felt confident on beginning to explore what I wanted to do after all the kids were in school.

I've taught dance my whole adult life but for the last five years I've felt that I wanted a change. Due to the flexibility of teaching I've had to stick with it as a means to support our family. Don't get me wrong I love to dance and teach children but I just wasn't as passionate about it as I once was. So I started looking into making a career change and well the corona virus ruined that for now.

Two years ago I thought about starting a blog/vlog. I love coming up with creative things for the kids to do, organizing/ decorating the house, creating things and much more. I started it and then decided not to move forward with it. As I revisited this idea recently I literally thought to myself this is 2020 so why not? What's the worst that can happen? So here I am jumping feet first into the world of blogging and vlogging. Inviting strangers into our home to see some of our triumphs and failures as we start virtual school this year. I try to be very transparent and I hope this transparency will at the least let other families know they are not alone.

So that's the condensed version of why I decided to start Six Miles 2 Go. You'll notice most of my posts are short and sweet. That's because as a mom of four I know that you have to be able to read this while your on the toilet trying to poo in peace. Ah parenthood.
